Fancy Miss Nancy (Novak)

Howdy,

God Bless you, Sharry.  Your bold move into action may have saved the valuable life of our classmate Robert. I’m pretty sure you have my number... 775-230-0092 if anyone would like to contact me anytime.

Scott Mermel and I have been long time music friends. Since my upheaval from the impressive snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevadas, both Scott and Jim have been kind, helpful and patient with the updates I needed to make.

I’m sure most of us have traveled over some very rough roads from time to time as we turn the pages in the chapters of this adventure called life. Being able to help others is one of the greatest blessings that I have found. Thank you for all you do Sharry, Scott, Jim and all the others that have put this whole thing together, that has allowed us to reminisce and meet our young/old friends once again.

God Bless you all. I mean y’all! I’m a Texan now!

PS I’m sure Carrol is enjoying her new life and is very busy there in Arizona. So she probably just doesn’t have time to return our calls. Don’t take it personally just be glad that she has found so much happiness.

Thank you, Janis,
We are babysitting for three of our grandsons, 7,9 & 10, while their parents are off skiing. They woke me up with cake, balloons and Happy Birthday signs. Counting my blessings...

Nancy, what a joyous way to wake up on your birthday.  I too am counting my blessings.

Sadly the 2nd Amendment, as interpreted by the NRA, is threatening the freedom we cherish in America.

To quote Fred Guttenberg:

“The NRA is a hindrance to the safety of our children.”

“We can't stop working for gun safety until we have meaningful gun reform.”

Who is Fred Guttenberg? he is a father (not as fortunate a parent as Steve’s mom).

He buried his 14 year old daughter Jaime who was killed in the Parkland HS massacre, and

he's emerged as a powerful, sound voice carrying the Marjory Stoneman Douglas (#MSD) message for gun law reform.

Elected politicians have ignored American citizens for too long.

Bravo to those in corporate America who stand on the side of gun reform.

Sharry (Rugendorf) Falcon had these photos from Robert Kleinzweig's Bar Mitzvah.  Thanks to her intervention and the support from this forum, we hope Bob is receiving the assitance he needs to cope with the tragedy that hit so close to his home.

Yesterday was Vietnam veteran Jim Davidson's first protest-- Outside the Pioneer Valley Sportsman's Association (PVSA) gun show at the DuPage County (IL) Fairgrounds, he sported a white beard and military veteran’s cap and stood by his sign:

“ENOUGH ! ! !   BAN  ASSAULT  WEAPONS”

The massacre at Parkland HS reawakened something in Davidson, 70, who served a two year tour in Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne Division... he knows the destructive power of military weaponry.  He read about the gun show protest in the local paper and decided it was time to act.

Jax West, another local, organized “Friends Who March” on Facebook: about 30  NOT anti-gun protesters  who know common sense gun safety reform is necessary.

Counterprotesters, many in NRA caps and carrying 2nd Amendment signs, assembled across from the protesters for gun safety reform.

As legislators in D.C. and across the country debate the best way to deal with the AR-15, Du Page County gun show organizers halted their advertised raffle for an AR-15, and vendors were told they would not be allowed to sell the weapon at the show-- PVSA has hosted seven gun shows a year for the past 40 years at the DuPage County Fairgrounds-- vendors assured the gun show organizers that they don’t sell bump stocks and agreed not to sell them at future shows.

The club is engaged in the gun culture war that, since Parkland, has gained new energy across the U.S.

The ten year national assault-weapons ban which expired in 2004 made life easier-- the weapons simply weren’t legal.

NOTE: Illinois has some of the strictest gun laws in the U.S.: Buyers must show a firearm owner's ID card or similar permit.

Tonight Robert Kleinzweig called me. He is home and is in good spirits. We exchanged email addresses and phone numbers, He promised to check in with me. I told him it was me who sent the sheriff to his home. Guess what, he wasn’t suprised. Robert promised to call me as a first responder.  It’s nice to know he always liked me. Robert is really a strong guy, as happy as most of us, but just had a bad day.  Love you Robert.

Now about me.   I can’t get divorced.   I need knee replacement surgery.   I’m living in a rental like a college kid with bricks holding up my t.v.    My last date thought we were married in our last life.     If anyone one has the iPad plug from 10 years ago send it to me, mine broke    I’m getting fatter older and smarter

This is the last time I’m going to post.  You authors turned this web site into school. I’m back at Facebook.  I available for lunch and soon marriage

Robert Kleinzweig

Well, I got help that I really didn't need.  I was placed, unfortunately, for a week in Delray Beach Medical Center's Fair Oaks Pavilion.  This was an unforced area under the Baker Act, with drugs I was forced to take.

But thank you, especially to Sharry.  I know she was doing a good thing which turned out to be a bad thing.  A week in the 'funny farm' was supposed to be a way to assist someone who has severe mential problems. I am a positive indivdul with a beautiful girlfriend named June Farrier who lives and works on Long Island and comes to see me every month or so.  My cat's name is Snoopy and I have a beautiflul 3 bedroom home in Delray Beach, I swim 30 pool lengths of my pool, and I am the ONLY ONE who does.  I am the only one who swims in the company pool, possibly because this is the only a 55+ community.

By the way, I was given two drugs:  Zimbalta for depression, and Remron, which I take at night for depression and sleep.   I am in a wheelchair, which is related to my congenital form of  Glycogen Storage Disease, Type VII.  I had it from birth and it is getting progressively worse, therefore I am as posotive as a man can be.  I have a 31 inch waste, 145 pounds of lean body weight amd a 17 inch neck size, and a 23 inch arm muscle.

The thing about MSD is still what I say it was.  My third marriage was to a Domincan who also had three sons, two of wihich were on to MSD as well.  I married her and brought them to the US and paid for their.citizenship. Now, I am moving on with the rest of my life.  I was borh in Poland after the war on July 27, 1945, and my parents brought me to Berlin in 1946.  We had four servants, including a chauffeur, a chef and two nurses in a 41 room house.  We lost our entire family. in WWII and if you would like to challenge me, please Google Abraham or Helene Kleinzweig. You will hear two hours each about the war and the atrocities thjat took place during this disaster.

Why am I telling you all if this?   In the future,do not circumvent my life to ANYONE before consulting with me first.

I must tell all of you that read my last that I am truly taken aback with the positive encouragement I got from the portal. It was taken in, and now I appreciate the depth of feeling I got from all of you.  I did not expect that, but now I am truly glad it happened.  I now feel that the members of1964 did truly feel the pain that I felt and am feeling.  Thank you all for your advise, support and encouragement you have given me.

I hope you all understand what I meant when I say this is a bit "unconscionable" at any level.

I have an article that shows D Wade talking to Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school yesterday at the school to partner up with Chicago students to discuss the shootings.  If you would like the article. just email me at kleinzweig01@comcast.net.  He is a leader and a hero.

The sun is shining on the forum.

The encouragement, advice, and support the forum provides is a gift to all of us.  Robert, I am glad you are feeling better and to receive your appreciation.  Thank you for showing us the value of the forum.

I too believe what happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas is “unconscionable”--  I hope you will share your thinking so we can understand what you find “unconscionable” about what happened at MSD...

also hope you will post the link to the article about D Wade talking to MSD students for all to read.

It’s been fun trying to recognize who’s who on photos from your bar mitzvah which (of course) focus on you-- Sharry and Donna Rugendorf and Don Weil jump off the page for me-- hope you’ll help me recognize the others... is that you sitting next to Sharry at the table on the right?

Did you see the Florida legislator brush off teenage mass shooting survivors?  I watched and listened in disbelief.  FL State Rep. Elizabeth Porter chastised her colleagues as they debated gun reform legislation.  She objected to their support of MSD students demanding gun law reforms.

During floor debate in the FL House, Rep. Porter dismissed the teen survivors: “We’ve been told we need to listen to the children and do what the children ask. Are there any children on this floor?  Are there any children making laws? Do we allow the children to tell us that we should pass a law that says ‘no homework’? Or you finish high school at the age of 12 just because they want it so? No. The adults make the laws because we have the age, we have the wisdom, and we have the experience.”

Yes, Rep. Porter has the age to be an adult, but she lacks the logic to recognize the wisdom these students gained from their experience at the receiving end of high-capacity magazines and an assault-style weapon.  (Seventeen students and teachers were slaughtered at MSD, many more were injured.)

What kind of country do we want to live in?

The survivors (who have lived with lockdown drills the entirety of their lives) and Fred Guttenberg (who buried his 14 year old daughter) are speaking loud and clear.  Are we listening?

Janis Kliphardt (Emery)

Alan Alop, thanks for your birthday greetings.

...a joyous day celebrating with family, remembered by friends and classmates, knowing some will be together for Cubs vs CWS at 2:05 CST at Sloan Park.

Amidst the excitement of Bob Olson's mini-reunion in Mesa, AZ, classmates there need not be concerned about arriving late at NASCAR tomorrow...

for the rest of usNOT in Arizona or Hawaii;  Paris, France;  Merida, Yucatan Mexico;  Thailand;  or perhaps traveling elsewhere...

overnight tonight - at  2:00 AM - is the time to Spring Ahead.

Most likely tongue-in-cheek, Ben Franklin urged his fellow countrymen to work during daylight and sleep after dark-- to save money on candles.

It's always darkest before daylight saving time...

for greetings on and off the Forum-- thanks all .
