Message Forum Posted Wednesday, November 4, 2020 07:32 AM The counting continues, there's NO winner to announce. We are a deeply divided country. It is important to remember it is Republican State legislatures that prevented Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania to get started counting early vote. Pollsters have to figure out what's not working with polling. |

Message Forum Posted Thursday, November 5, 2020 05:46 PM We all should wonder why Republican State Legislatures (in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania) would not permit county election boards to begin counting mail-in ballots until November 3rd. Trump encouraged Republicans to vote on Election Day. The 2020 voter turnout is the largest (ever). Counting the ballots is taking longer than it might have because so many ballots were cast and because the count is so close. Trump's same day vote is what was reported first in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia. Now, the mail-in votes are being counted and reported in those states. Pennsylvania's mail-in ballots have to be removed from two envelopes: first from the outer envelope, then from the 'secrecy' envelope, then unfolded and "stretched out"... all preparatory to count each ballot. If counting every vote STOPPED now, If the Democrats win the battle, they lost the war. |

Message Forum Posted Friday, November 6, 2020 01:28 PM Democracies are fragile. There are lots of feelings on top of fatigue in 2020. Legal votes are being counted carefully and accurately. We need to ignore the noise out there, and remain patient and calm. Because, by and large, Republicans participated in same day voting, and Democrats participated in mail-in voting, the tallies for different states have shown red or blue mirages which shifted to the other color. Voters on both sides experienced the disappointment of watching the tally shift from a lead for their candidate. Let's hope Republican legislatures realize that delaying the count of mail-in ballots prolongs the counting process and exacerbates the pain. |

Message Forum Posted Friday, November 6, 2020 04:11 PM Yes, the votes are tightening in Arizona; Biden's lead is growing steadily in Pennsylvania. Arizona is accustomed to voting by mail so that's what Arizonans did, they voted by mail for both Biden and Trump. Mail-in voting is new in Pennsylvania: In 2016, when the election results were painfully unexpected, Hillary Clinton received a phone call from Barack Obama. He told her, "It's over. For the good of the country (it was time to stop hoping for a miracle)." Trump is used to beating the odds; his supporters have watched him do it, time and time again. He contracted covid-19, and because of the medical treatment and therapeutics available to him, he was out of the hospital and back on the campaign trail in miraculous time. Trump is used to "winning". If this is his first time to lose, it's going to be that much harder. He needs Republicans to help him understand "for the good of the country." |

Message Forum Posted Saturday, November 7, 2020 10:47 AM For some the announcement took too long, People wearing masks are flooding into the streets to celebrate. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris adds her message of inclusion to Joe Biden's commitment to unify the country. Mitch McConnell has an important role to play for our country to heal. Emotion is running deep on both sides on a truly historic day. |

Message Forum Posted Tuesday, November 10, 2020 02:59 PM There are 71 days 'til the inauguration. Joe Biden was not my first choice in the primaries, The transition is moving forward despite the roadblocks. Oral arguments in the Supreme Court about the future of the Affordable Care Act seem promising for the well-being of the American people. |

Message Forum Posted Wednesday, November 11, 2020 11:14 PM Nation Before Self Republican Senator James Lankford said on a Tulsa, OK, radio interview that President-elect Joe Biden should be receiving intelligence briefings. Senator Lankford is a member of the Oversight Committee. He said, "There's nothing wrong with a former vice president getting the briefings to be able to prepare himself so that he can be ready. Kamala Harris is on the Intelligence Committee, she has all the clearance she needs to receive the briefings. If that's not occurring by this Friday, I will step in to push them, this needs to occur." *Every major news outlet in the country called the 2020 election for Joe Biden last Saturday, November 7th. |

Message Forum Posted Friday, November 13, 2020 06:34 PM If we learned anything from this election it is that we are in a very fraught time for our fragile democracy. There are two visions of political power in America. The GOP has become the autocratic party. When their elected officials speak or act, it is always to please Donald Trump. And they do so because they know if Donald is not pleased, they will have their sphere of power taken away from them either by being fired or losing his support at the polls. Alas! Donald Trump is living the 2020 experience: he got covid, he lost his job, and he's getting evicted. More than 74,000,000 Americans who love our country support a person who makes all his decisions on the basis of what is best for him. We must not sweep our differences under the rug. We must confront what divides us and work to build on all that unites us, restore our government, and heal as a nation. |
