The greatest commandment is love.

Man to the other: "Your choice of lifestyle is an abomination."

The other to the man: "But I've been this way since I was a child."

Man to the other: "The scriptures say it is of the Devil."

The other to the man: "But who am I hurting by being this way?"

Man to the other: "It's EVIL! You must renounce this behavior."

The other to the man: "What if it's NATURAL?"

Man to the other: "There's NO proof of that!"

Joe Biden's love of country shines through his presidency.
He brings a wealth of experience and a personal story which make him empathetic and a good fit for the time.
"Successful electoral politics is the art of the possible."
There are great hurdles to advancing President Biden's agenda.
His programs are winning support from Republican voters,
Republican lawmakers are out of step with their constituents.

...and deciding there will be no absentee ballots under the most rigid circumstances?...
It's all pernicious.

Figuring out this 'love' thing is not always easy. Loving others is tricky - we cannot love our neighbor while supporting or accepting systems that crush, exploit, and dehumanize them.
Why not write our elected officials and remind them we're tired of our neighbors being shot down in cold blood?

Why not search for Italy with Stanley Tucci and experience love and history in the cuisine?

"When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed."

I'm gonna let it shine."

January 6 looms large in our consciousness.
Could it be that those who fear "good trouble" and do everything they can to avoid thorny matters that are hitting them in the face are actually part of the problem?
Thank goodness for those who accept inconvenience and being poorly portrayed, and run and serve in the face of harassment and threats lest our democracy withers and dies.

So much for the veneer of charm and politeness of Southern hospitality: as Judge Walmsley said before sentencing three white white men for the murder of an unarmed Black man, Ahmaud Arbery's death "should force us to consider expanding our definition of what a neighbor may be and how we treat them. I argue that maybe a neighbor is more than the people who just own property around your house."

What if we did the right thing, with the right attitude, and the right motivation? We'd be on a good path, yes?

Some people would trust us, and call us 'friend'.

Alas! others would feel threatened, declaring us an 'enemy'.
