RE: Message Forum Posted Friday, April 14, 2023 10:49 PM Janis, I don't think it's all about discernment. Two people witnessing the same event will typically recount different observations. Does that mean one or both are lying? Not at all. We weigh what was said and decide, or as you say, discern which account sounds truthful. I was paraphrasing David,s caution 3500 years ago, "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help." Ps 146:4. We must listen with skepticism of David and decide what we believe. Isn't that discernment? |

RE: Message Forum Posted Sunday, May 7, 2023 08:59 AM It is depressing that Trump - one of the most loathsome individuals ever - retains the loyalty of a significant number of Americans. |

RE: Message Forum Posted Friday, June 2, 2023 03:33 PM Both Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis tell us they will pursue pardons for those convicted of a crime for their role in the January 6 siege of the Capitol. |

RE: Message Forum Posted Saturday, July 29, 2023 04:40 PM "See the Super Patriot. Hear him preach how he loves his country. Hear him preach how he hates liberals and moderates and intellectuals, activists and pacifists, and minority groups and aliens and unions and teenagers, and the very rich and the very poor and the people with foreign sounding names. Now you know what a super patriot is. He's someone who loves his country and hates 93% of the people who live in it." |

RE: Message Forum Posted Saturday, July 29, 2023 06:11 PM In MAGA world, there seems to be a mad dash to the bottom of a cesspool. Isaac Asimov once said: "When stupidity is considered patriotism, it is unsafe to be intelligent." |

RE: Message Forum Posted Saturday, July 29, 2023 08:04 PM The most anti-woke state in America still can't figure out how to honorably teach kids the truth about our nation's history. His poll numbers are dropping like a stone. |

RE: Message Forum Posted Friday, August 11, 2023 10:38 AM Think of it: If Trump is convicted, he can nevertheless be on the ballot as a presidential candidate in the state of Florida where he would be denied the right to vote for himself. |

RE: Message Forum Posted Tuesday, August 15, 2023 05:38 PM Republican presidential candidates defend Trump at their own risk; they are implicitly minimizing his scheme to overturn the voters' will. |

RE: Message Forum Posted Monday, August 28, 2023 09:50 PM Imagine this: the same Republican presidential candidates who acknowledged VP Pence did the right thing to uphold the Constitution on January 6, 2021, also raised their hands to affirm they would support Trump in the general election should Trump win the GOP nomination and also be convicted of crimes. |

Message Forum Posted Thursday, September 7, 2023 04:30 PM There are those who yearn for Trump's return to power. Special thanks to the January 6 Committee, to the Capitol police, to Cassidy Hutchinson, to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, to Brad Raffensperger and Rusty Bowers, to Geoff Duncan, to Governors Chris Sununu and John Kasich, and finally, better late than never, Republicans who want to be president: Chris Christie, Asa Hutchinson, and Will Hurd who are speaking out in opposition to Trump. |
