Thank you for including my mother in your memory slide show. It was sad to see her there. I saw her on this page, and thought that I should let you know what happened and when. As a side note, My father is Ron Miller, who attended Niles West & East and he passed away on 6/5/2005. I understand why he is not on this site. You do have Robert Riverburgh (in the video and in the memory list he is before my mom), and he passed away in 1964 after graduation (I believe). I was named after him, he and my mom and dad were best friends. Anyway, thank you again. Sincerely, Roberta Miller

Sharon was a beautiful person and had a very wonderful life.  She married Ronnie Miller when they were both 19. This kept Ronnie from going to Vietnam , and Sharon from going to college.  A year later she had a baby girl.  They named her Roberta, after Bob Rivenberg, Class of 64 west.  Bob Rivenberg died in an accident at Dairy Queen in Lincolnwood in 1964.

Two years later, she gave birth to a second daughter named Tracy.  Twenty five years into their marriage Ronnie and Sharon divorced. Sharon never remarried but had a wonderful, happy, and a good life.  Her life was filled with  her beautiful daughters, grandaughter, good friends, good times, and great movies. In 1996 Sharon found her dream job, working as a school secretary at a grade school.  She spent 11 years there surrounded by little kids.  At Christmas she would come home with 400 gifts.

Sharon, myself, and many others smoked too many cigarettes and drank too many cups of coffee. ( not a great diet) Sharon got caught and I didn't.  Sharon had trouble breathing.    I miss her everyday.  In 8th grade she beat me in the 50 yard dash and I never let her win again.  I loved her like a sister and miss her every day.

Sharon was a Lincoln Hall cheerleader and a Niles West cheerleader.  I know she will be with us at the reunion in spirit. Cheering for us .Sharon loved life.  She loved movies and television.  She loved playing music and reading.  She loved going to red lobster and ordering the triple shrimp special.  She loved sitting at her pool and making fun out of the old man she called the pool nazi.

She always joked that she be at our 50 th reunion.  I bet she shows, wearing her cheerleading outfit.

You will always be my best friend .

Sending you hugs and kisses.

It was a terrible shock to find out Sharry died.  We went back to 4th grade.  Sharry's family moved to that new development on Kennth just around the time we did -- all of our families leaving Chicago for the suburbs.  I spent hours at Sharry's house -- once she put on ballet shoes and danced around, and our other friend, Yvette Morris, put on toe shoes, and danced around, and they asked me which of them was the better dancer.  I made my first foray into diplomacy:  I said Sharry was better on ballet shoes and that Yvette was better on toe.  And we all ate some cookies and felt good.

When I saw that she died, I knew it was the smoking.  Wasn't she at our 30th reunion?  I seem to recall the huskiness in her voice.  It was a billboard of what was to come.

And I also noticed Ellen Silberman died -- she lived right across the street from Sharry, and i spent many hours at Ellen's house too.  Anyone know anything about her?

Sharon Rodnick Miller attended the 40th Reunion of the Class of 64, along with Sherry Rugendorf, Alan Alop, and me, David Steinberg (Noel).  We had a blast talking about all of you, and how much fun we had at Niles with you all.

Sharon and I  told stories about going crazy in Mr. Abrams' class senior year.  We could not stop laughing at Abrams' big fat red lips!

We all stayed in touch after the 40th reunion, and Sharry, Alan, and I will perform one of Sharon's cheerleader performances in her joyful, exhuberant memory at the 50th reunion.

We love her dearly, and we still have fun just thinking about how much fun she created with us.
