In Memory

Christopher Andre Marks

Christopher Andre Marks

Chris was a gentle giant of a man and my friend. He was successful in all he touched and his loss will be felt by his loving family, his church, his friends, and especially by me. He and his wife were successful in the radio industry but with all that success his life was cut short .... A lesson that all of us need to remember .... He was my friend and I will always remember his giant loving way about him, his gentleness, and his kindness. To me he was a great big "teddy bear" of a man and I will remember and miss him for the rest of my days..... Gary Laff

Chris was a good friend and I owe him big-time for the change he triggered in my life. He went to Baker Universitry (Baldwin City, KS)... I have no idea why... but, after his freshman year he came home for the summer and we got together. He convinced me that, in spite of my less-than-serious approach to school my grades were probably good enough to get into his college. That got me out of the Thom McCann shoe store, got me a student deferment and changed my life. Everything that has gone right for me since, and there has been a lot, can be tracked back to that conversation sometime in the summer of 1965... it was probably over a pizza at Uno's (one of our favorite things to do).

Chris, I am only sorry that you can't know the difference you made in my life. You were a true friend, a troubador on the 12 string and just one of the best.
