In Memory

Elizabeth Anne Honnet (Belkin)

Elizabeth Anne Honnet (Belkin)

From Marilyn Spiegel Richards:

Liz and I were friends forever. We met in grade school and continued to be friends throughout life. She was much better at staying in contact and whenever I came to Chicago, I tried to see her. She had many Chicago friends and stayed in touch with the Niles class also. She started out teaching at Niles and then got her law degree and went on to a successful career in real estate law. She loved Irish Setters and always managed to have one. She was a good friend. Sorry to have to say good-bye...

For some years before Liz died, we would talk on the phone every few months.  Liz was a a real phone-talker.  Some years ago, she was leaving from Long Beach, CA  on one of her V E R Y  L O N G  C R U I S E S, so we met there for lunch, and a L O N G  L U N C H  it was, about 3 hours. Liz wasn't entirely happy in those days, but -- hey, neither was I -- so we were quite comfy sharing our angst.  Our rants were epic.  But hers were longer.
