i remember you from Lincoln Hall and Niles West. You were the one walking down the halls with a musical instrument humming and singing.
it seems there wasn't a band or an orchestra you weren't in. You were amazing and talented. I'm sorry I never had the chance to appreciate you and your band /orchestra more. I was to busy with John, Paul, Ringo, and the Stones. Once again Im sorry that I never talked to u in the hall. I thought you were mafia carrying that violin case where ever you went. I also was influenced and watched to much of Dragnet and the untouchables on t.v. In 1960, that you scared me.
You were taller then most of the Lincolnwood boys and physically matured early. I was still short and loved sitting behind you in class. You moved so much in your chair that the teachers never saw me and never called on me. Thanks again for that. It was the only class I could take a nap in.
I am sorry that I didn't get to know you better. Maybe in my next life.
I remember Shelly walking down the halls at Niles West, tall and lanky, relaxed and happy. We greeted one another in the music wing, but also in the halls during passing periods. He had rhythm, he was a percussionist. I too am sorry I didn't get to know Shelly better. I am pleased his smiling spirit lives on with us, Niles West class of '64.

The writer captured quintessential Shelly. I hope Shelly received these accolades in life.
